QA finding
No page of the site offers a way to get in touch
QA Warning Severity: Medium
Part of the audit Usability rules. Finding id: qa.noContactPath.
What it costs you
A visitor with a question, a customer with a problem and a journalist all leave. Visitors also read missing contact details as a sign that a site cannot be trusted.
What to do
Give every page a way to reach you, usually in the footer: an email address, a phone number or a link to a contact page with a form.
What it checks
- No way to contact you found
How to fix it
Add contact details to the footer
- Decide how you want to be reached: email, phone, a form, or a postal address.
- Put it in the footer of the site template, so every page shows it, and link it (mailto: for email, tel: for phone).
- If you use a contact form, link to the page that holds it from the footer as well.
How to check: Run this rule again: it finds the details.
