The business dropped out of the local pack for a tracked keyword

SEO Warning Severity: Medium

Part of the audit Rank tracking. Finding id: seo.localPackLost.

What it costs you

The local pack is the block of business listings shown with a map for searches with a place in mind. A business that is not in it is missed by people nearby who are looking for one.

What to do

Check that the business profile is still published and correct, then compare it with the businesses now shown.

What it checks

  • Local map results position

How to fix it

Check the business profile first

  1. Open your business profile and check that it is published, not suspended and not marked as closed.
  2. Check name, address, phone, opening hours and category against the website. See the business listing findings for differences.
  3. Search for the keyword yourself from the location in the finding and from a second one.
  4. If the profile is fine, look at what the listed businesses have that yours does not: category, reviews, distance to the searcher.

How to check: Follow the local pack for the keyword over the next checks.

How to verify by hand

The same search from another location, and the insights of your business profile for the same days.

What this relies on

A business that was in the pack at one check and is not at the next lost its place, and was not just measured from another spot.
