SEO finding
A content page is linked only from the menu, header or footer, never from another page's text
SEO Warning Severity: Low
Part of the audit Internal linking and site structure. Finding id: seo.linkedOnlyFromSiteChrome.
What it costs you
A link in the menu is the same on every page and says little about what the target is about. Without links from related text, search engines get no context for the page, and readers of related pages never come across it.
What to do
Link to this page from the text of two or three related pages, with words that say what it is about.
What it checks
- Linked only from menu or footer
How to fix it
Add links from related content
- Find pages on the same topic as [url]: other articles in its category, products it goes with, the guide it belongs to.
- In their text, link to [url] where it helps the reader, with link text that names its topic.
- If many pages of one type are listed, add a related-content block to that template.
How to check: Recrawl the site: the page has at least one link from the main content of another page.
