QA finding
A page has not changed for a long time or shows an old date
QA Info Severity: Low
Part of the audit Content freshness. Finding id: qa.stalePages.
What it costs you
The page may no longer be true, or looks as if it is not.
What to do
Have the owner of the page read it. Update it, confirm it is still right, or remove it.
What it checks
- Page not updated for many months
- Date shown on the page is old
How to fix it
Review the page
- Read the page and check every fact that can go out of date: prices, dates, names, phone numbers, links.
- Correct what is wrong. If the page shows a date, update it only when the content was really checked.
- If the page is meant to stay as it is (terms, an archive), dismiss the finding for that page or set a longer review period for its section.
- If nobody needs the page, remove it and redirect its address.
How to check: After the next crawl the page has a new last_changed date, or the finding stays dismissed.
