QA finding
Sample policy: the page text contains placeholder text, a banned term or a wrong brand spelling
QA Warning Severity: Medium
Part of the audit Custom policies. Finding id: qa.policyBannedTerms.
What it costs you
The page breaks a rule your organisation set for its own content.
What to do
Edit the page so the text no longer matches the policy, or change the policy if the rule no longer applies.
What it checks
- Your text rule matched
- Banned word or phrase used
- Brand name written wrongly
How to fix it
Edit the text
- Search the page for the term. The policy patterns are in the parameters of this rule.
- Replace it with the allowed wording.
- If the term sits in a shared header or footer, change it there.
How to check: Recheck the page: the policy passes.
Thresholds
| Name | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
placeholder_pattern | (?i)lorem ipsum|insert text here|\bTBC\b|\bTODO\b | Any text or regular expression that must not appear on a published page. The default finds leftover placeholder text in English and Latin filler; add the placeholders your editors use in other languages. |
banned_terms_pattern | (?i)\b(guaranteed|risk-free|cheapest)\b | Terms your organisation does not allow, as one pattern. The default is an English example list; replace it with your own terms in the languages of the site. |
brand_name | Sitefig | The brand name as it must be written. Used in the message. |
brand_misuse_pattern | \b(SiteFig|Site Fig|Site-fig|SITEFIG)\b | Wrong spellings of the brand name. Case matters. |
