QA finding
A page still presents an event or offer whose end date has passed
QA Warning Severity: Medium
Part of the audit Content freshness. Finding id: qa.expiredEventOrOffer.
What it costs you
Visitors find an event they can no longer attend or a price that no longer holds. Search engines read the same date and may show the result as expired or drop the price from it.
What to do
Take the page down, mark it clearly as past, or update the date if the event or offer was extended.
What it checks
- Event or offer already ended
How to fix it
Retire or update the page
- If the event or offer is over, unpublish the page and redirect its address to the current overview, or keep it as an archive page that says it is over.
- If it was extended, change the date in the content and in the structured data.
- If the same template_id appears many times, give the template an expiry rule so pages retire themselves.
How to check: Recheck the page: it no longer carries an end date in the past.
