QA Warning Severity: Low
Part of the audit The same component differs from page to page. Finding id: qa.duplicateMetaTags.
What it costs you
Search results and shared links show one of the two values, and it may be the old one.
What to do
Find the two places that write the tag and switch one off.
What it checks
- Duplicate meta tags with different values
How to fix it
Leave one source for the tag
- View the source of the example page and search for the tag. Note what stands around each copy: that shows which system wrote it.
- Decide which value is right.
- Switch off the other source: remove the tag from the template, or turn off that output in the plugin or module that adds it.
How to check: View the source of the page again: the tag is there once.
