Accessibility finding
A language or image model doubts an alt text, a control name, a document or the statement
Accessibility Info Severity: Medium
Part of the audit Alternative text contradicts its surroundings. Finding id: accessibility.modelJudgement.
What it costs you
If the model is right, people who use assistive technology get a text that does not say what they need to know.
What to do
Look at the element in its place on the page. Change it if you agree, dismiss the finding if you do not.
What it checks
- Linked image described, not its destination
- Description in another language than page
How to fix it
Judge it yourself, then edit or dismiss
- Open [page url] and find the element ([selector]).
- Read "[text]" together with what it is compared with: [context].
- If the model is right, change the text. Its suggestion is a starting point, not a final wording.
- If the model is wrong, dismiss the finding. The same text can get another verdict on the next run.
How to check: A person has looked at the element on the page. Running the model again is not a check.
A real case
In WebAIM's 2026 scan of the top one million home pages, 10.8% of the images that had alternative text had questionable or repetitive text, and one in four linked images had none.
